Why Museums Should Care About SDGs
In 2015, countries all over the world banded together to create a set of achievable goals that would make the world a better place. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were created to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all, with specific targets in mind, each to be achieved over a 15 year period. How does this relate to the creation of museum exhibits?
You need science to develop new and sustainable energy sources, to clean our water, to work towards dampening the effects of climate change, to reduce our impact on the environment, and to protect other living creatures, humans and animals alike. Without science, none of this would be possible, giving science centers and museums a clear platform for sharing SDGs.
